Really top-notch. Since moving to St. Clair Shores from Chicago, we've been trying to find a good, casual but romantic "date night" type of place, with no luck. Reviews on Yelp didn't reveal very many highly-rated options in the Eastpointe/GrossePointes/SCS/Roseville areas. Last night, my boss, a co-worker and I were looking for a nice place to quietly celebrate the good year our small business had, so we opted to give Luxe a try after reading reviews. The Food: Ordered the Mediterranean platter to start with. Everything was room temperature or slightly warm, which I've read is how it should be served. It included everything mentioned on the menu (salami, feta, olives, marinated mushrooms, peppers, etc.) plus caperberries. Everything was delicious. Our entrees included the lamb chops (two of us tried these; rave reviews), the salmon (the only thing about the dinner that wasn't awesome ... one of my guests said it was a little overly fishy ... we mentioned it to the waitress and it was comped on our bill without another word), and the green apple salad (divine and will absolutely be ordered again!) and the French onion soup (salty, but plenty of other flavor too -- good call on the haystack onions). Dirty martinis and a coffee topped it off. Pros: Not too busy, but it was only a Tuesday night. Plenty of free evening parking behind the shops. Grosse Pointe Farms is quiet and beautiful, especially after dark. The ambience of this place is great, romantic, and yet not stuffy. The service was prompt and very attentive on our visit. It's an environment perfect for casual conversation (but like I said, we weren't there on a Friday or Saturday night). The food is not overly exotic -- you can order a burger, for instance, but they put some imagination into it and there are delightful combinations that really set this place apart from your typical "bar and grill". See my comments above regarding specific dishes. Also: until last night, you couldn't pay me to touch frisee. I love salad, but that wiry white bitter stuff always gets picked out. After having that green apple salad, I'm a frisee believer. And this place made it happen. Cons: Restaurant markup on wine is high. That's a given. But this place's wine prices were so high my boss didn't even order a glass, and we're in the wine business, so we usually order something. Also, the waitress wasn't familiar with what wines they had, but I'd chalk that up to inexperience -- and that type of thing doesn't bother me unless I'm paying top dollar for a plate at a snooty place. So no biggie. Overall: Great food, great atmosphere, attentive and polite service, and I can't wait to bring my husband (and out-of-town guests) here.

The Brussels sprout salad is divine. You think maple dressing - but it's just right with the warm sprouts, French fried onion, frisée and blue cheese with pumpkin seeds & cranberries. Great lemonade & my friend enjoyed her vodka & lemonade - fresh made. Atmosphere is great, a little pricey & decor is underdone yet comfy. Great service & free wifi. Coming back to check out more menu items soon.

Summary. A good burger place (3.5 out of 5) with some interesting other items and better quality than I would expect considering the reasonable price. Stopped here after sailing with my siblings on a Saturday night. We were seated (group of 8) quickly and our server was young and attentive. We ordered nacho and calamari appetizers. The calamari was ok. The nachos were good. There was a small beer list, but there were drafts on the list for everyone in our group (a group with varied beer tastes). I enjoyed a Dragon's Milk from New Holland. For dinner we ordered a a few servings of the fries and sweet potato fries to share around the table. My wife preferred the sweet potato fries but I thought the original fries were better. Not special, but good fries. I also ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and a BBQ bacon burger and split both with my wife. The burgers we well prepared and juicy. Good burgers. I also tried the Brussels and the bite I had was so good I want to come back just to order a full side for myself. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and may try to make it back (likely to try the Birmingham location that is closer to our house) soon.

Outstanding in every respect. A tad on the pricey side, but here you get more than you pay for. Great food, superb service. My sincere compliments to the chef and wait staff. P.S. Get the calamari and the shrimp appetizers and mix them together. Freakin' awesome! BTW, the margaritas are 5-star...

The food was very very meh. We had the burger, grilled cheese, onion rings and calamari. The grilles cheese was good. The burger was meh and the onion rings and calamari were lacking. Basically the food is good if you never leave the fake grosse point bubble for real food in Detroit which is essentially what the entire population does in grosse Pointe. Just saying.

Went last night in a double date with some friends. Very casual and cozy spot. Food was 4+ for sure. strongly recommend the grilled cheese and soup. It's fantastic. Wine prices are a bit on the high side. However food prices are a bit on the low side IMO. Just check the menu before you order as there's a bit of a range of $$-$$$ entrées.

The Brussel Sprout salad is AMAZING! Staff is nice and the space is small and cozy. They even have an outdoor patio that is great in the summer.

First burger was supposed to be medium, came to the table bloody. The waitress apologized and had them make another burger. Second burger was still bloody and the manager came to see the issue, rudely informing me that this was actually medium-well for the restaurant and asked if I would like it well-done. Overpriced, poor service, and not even worth the long wait when the food does finally come.

Luxe has changed. Went here after going to the Eyes on Design car show at the Ford House last weekend. Was craving those fish tacos I wrote so highly in the other review only to find that they are now tiny pieces of fish (only two) no bigger than the size of my pinky. Terrible!! I was so disappointed. Management if you are reading this..which you better be..when people order fish tacos they can do without the fried chips and coleslaw - we want more FISH!!!!!!!! Hubby and I also shared the grilled cheese and tomato soup which I have to say was quite good. Hubby had the ribs which he said were just ok. He actually wanted to go to Red Crown - I was the one who insisted on Luxe bc of the fish tacos. We won't be coming back here mainly because there is nothing else on the menu besides the fish taco that excites me. And if the size of the fish in the fish taco tells me anything..it tells me the entrees or sandwiches won't be much different. But also because the bartender (long blonde hair) obviously had her boyfriend at the bar and I was pretty disgusted that she was handling my drink (which included some stuff she freshly squeezed and dropped in) and rubbing her hands all up and down her boyfriends arms as she leaned suggestively over the bar. Gross. She was working Sunday June 15th around 3:30pm. The girl who came after he didn't seem much better completely ignoring patrons at the bar without so much as a hello. Sorry but you won't see us here again. Shame. I really liked you Luxe. But as usual..a restaurant is good to start and them goes steadily downhill. Peace outtttt!

Went for the first time and was blown away by the grilled cheese. Seriously... forget Cafe Muse and their "Oprah loves our grilled cheese". Total garbage compared to the grilled cheese at Luxe. I'm craving it now just typing this. If you get one thing at the Luxe....get the grilled cheese. Also, we ordered the wings. Try the garlic parmesan sauce. It's pretty much buttery fat goodness with cheese. Not good for you, but who cares!

Very tasty food. While the prices are high you do get large portions so it is a good value. Friendly waitstaff too.

Way better experience last night. We sat outside and were waited on by Christina. She did an awesome job and our food was terrific. The Muscles and Clams were awesome. For dinner I had the luxe burger with bacon my wife had the blue burger. They were cooked just like we liked. Also the Siren Amber Ale & Moscow Mules were fantastic.

The burgers are good but pricey for what they are. $10 for a burger and no sides is a little extreme. The atmosphere is good and the service is usually good.

We have been wanting to visit a Luxe Bar and Grill since it was recommended by my close friends who frequents the Birmingham Luxe Bar and Grill on Old Woodward Ave. We decided to try the one in Grosse Pointe Farms and the hostess made us feel as if we have been there before. You can tell that she takes pride in what she does. They do say that the Hostess/Greeter can make or break the dining visit the minute you enter the establishment. The menu looks very simple but they found a way to take the ordinary to the extreme! They have filled it with some wonderful old fashioned recipes but it's the presentation that completes it. I had the Grilled Cheese & Gazpacho (Gruyere, muenster, goat cheese, arugula, pickled jalapenos, & red onion relish on toasted multi-grain. Served with homemade Gazpacho). My friend ordered the Fresh Mahi Sandwich (Cajun spiced, muenster, chopped lettuce, tomato, onion and creole mayo). To both of our surprise, we were blown away! The ambience and atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, excellent menu choices for everyone of all ages, will bring you back over and over again. The bar area was packed at all times, guests couldn't wait to have someone leave quick enough to claim their spot. Give this place a try, you'll be thrilled that you had an experience to sample these one of a kind menu choices. If your unable to make it out to this one, try the location in Birmingham. The patio is set to come out next week, weather permitting. I can't wait, I'll be back!

Risen from the ashes of Lucy's is Luxe Grill, a hip attempt at contemporary food that falls short. Atmosphere: 3/5 - The main reason I used to frequent Lucy's was that it was one of the few restaurants in the Hill with outdoor seating. The Luxe wisely carriers over this tradition, so it has that going for them. Gone are the mock star-constellation ceilings, poor lightning, and laid-back, almost nostalgic feel of Lucy's. The restaurant has been transmogrified into a modern, chic, bar-like atmosphere, albeit with little personality that makes it come off as somewhat generic. There isn't anything especially notable here, but nothing I can hold against them. Food: 2/5 - Uninspired. We tried the tuna tacos and nachos, and neither were particularly interesting. As typical of many Grosse Pointe restaurants, both were under-spiced and bland. Their menu is indicative of a restaurant that tries to do too many things at once, rather than focus on a few star dishes. Service: 3/5 - We had good, attentive, average service, but nothing outstanding. Verdict: Luxe grill is an average local restaurant, with no particularly strong suit. I might go back if I wasn't up for driving across town to go to somewhere better. But other than that, I can't recommend it.

We ordered a carry out and ordered the luxe burger w fries and I ordered the grilled cheese and Gazpacho sandwich with a side of Edemame with sea salt. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the fries were very soggy and oilly. The best part of the dinner was the handmade lemonade. It was the best I ever had very good.

When: Friday, Dinner time First time I'd been in the place since it was Lucy's. It was full of the usual GP crowd and if your from the area you're bound to bump into someone you know. It was also quite loud, so if you are looking for quiet, intimate dinner, this is not your place. It is definitely a local place, I don't see anyone driving great distances to try this place out. The menu speaks to the "Grill" portion of its name. You can get anything from a $10 burger to $32 lamb chops. Though the menu isn't that big they seem to cover a lot of ground with things like mussels, salmon, mahi, filet, chicken, and a variety of salads. I had the Prime Filet. Menu said (8oz), seemed a bit bigger actually - cut was good. Only issue was the zip sauce, they put too much which made it a bit salty. I could also do without all the fried onions on top. They should serve it with some better veggies too. I tried the fries, both regular and sweet potato. They had an interesting salty taste to them as if they were fried/cooked with something like brine. Overall not bad. In the end I would recommend this place for anyone looking have a high-class bar night out with some decent food. Parking: Good parking in rear, municipal lot, pull a ticket to enter. 25 cents. If you go on busy night, street parking will be nonexistent. Entrance to the lot is tricky, off the alley behind the businesses, so do some reconnaissance beforehand.

Visited last week for the first time. I was surprised to find out (from reviews) that Luxe was known for its Burgers. We'd assumed by the name, and exterior of the restaurant that it was more upscale. They have outdoor seating, though limited and always full when we pass by. We ate inside. Some overhead music for ambience would've been nice. My husband & I had the Luxe Nachos appetizer, which was good. For dinner, I had the Mahi Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. The Mahi Sandwich was good enough to order again, though I've had better. I think they let the fries sit too long, because they were barely warm but didn't care enough to send them back. The hubby had the BBQ Bacon Burger, which was exceptional. Overall, we liked it enough to say we'll visit again sometime.

I love seeing all the new restaurants popping up in GP lately! Luxe fills a nice little gap in the market. It's an upscale, yet comfortable and relaxed spot with good food and friendly service. I came in on a rainy Sunday with my mom and sister, and it was really a cozy place to chill and escape the weather outside. I had the blue cheese burger, which was delicious: cooked exactly as I ordered it, and plenty big to share bites with everyone else in my group. Their sweet potato fries were also great, and the honey mustard sauce that accompanied them was addicting and so unique! It's not fine dining, but that's not what I was looking for anyway. I will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed a brussel sprout salad for lunch. Loved the complexity of the salad - fresh crunchy frisee, crisp fried brussel sprout leaves, creamy pungent blue cheese, tart dried cherries, thinly sliced red onion, tender grilled chicken, roasted pumpkin seeds, topped off with maple vinaigrette; a winning flavor combination. (I would probably switch out the pumkin seeds for toasted walnuts, and add a litlle acid and salt to the dressing.) It was delicious! The patio was packed and almost everyone else was eating burgers, they looked amazing; I'm trying one of those on my next visit. One note, the salad was a little pricey, $16.50, but I suppose that's the going rate on the hill. Very friendly and attentive service.

The Brussel sprout salad is easily one of the best things I have ever eaten ever in my life ever. Service was great And even though it looked packed, we didn't wait more than 5 minutes. Great prices and great drinks. But the salad!!!! OMG!!!! I'd drive a million miles for it. AMAZINGGGGGG!

Being from LA and being a total foodie, I'm a food snob and I've been dying to find a place in Grosse Pointe that has great food and great ambiance. And I finally found it! Great food, great prices, great ambiance. Will be coming back.

Onions rings inexplicable. Like doughnut--in girth and grease--with hidden onion core. One was enough to unsettle entire party for rest of nite. Be sure to drink red wine to offset cardiac damage.

Went for the second time on Friday night, first time two two weeks ago there was a 45 plus minute wait with no room to stand in bar or anywhere else . Good to see a busy place but went next door to the Hill. This time there was a 15-20 wait and that was fine. Got a drink about 10 min in as the bar area is way too crowded. I would give them 4 stars for the food, great burgers. My blue cheese was cooked perfect not overloaded and wonderful bun, wife's Brussels sprout salad was outstanding and the sweet potatoes fries were to die for. Reason for the 3 stars NOISE level it was like being in a concert you can not have a conversation. I do audio mixing and have a db meter on my phone it measured 93 db in the middle of the room setting on the center of our table!! That is rock concert loud!! And there is no band. It won't take much to fix and others who have gone there said the same thing. This is a great concept but you got to tone it down. This could be 4-4.5 stars if my ears were not ringing. Food is great.

Tried lots of stuff on the menu never disappointed. They do their best to make sure it's always a hit and will fix it to make it better. Love the chicken sandwich, burger and onion rings. The appetizers are off the hook. Frequently we love making dinner just from the apps. Shrimp, nachos, soup, fish tacos. Buratta salad new for summer was just perfect. Can't wait to go back for more.

Finally, an upscale casual restaurant in GP where the quality of the food actually matches the price! I've become tired of nice and/or trendy looking GP restaurants charging top dollar for ho-hum food. I stopped in earlier this week for dinner with my wife and some friends. It was very busy but we were seated in half the time we were told we'd have to wait. The interior is very nicely designed: interesting decorations, nice comfortable furnishings, nice lighting and reasonable noise level. We were tempted by the entrees but we all ended up going with burgers after the rave reviews we had heard about them. It's been a while since I've had a great burger and the mushroom burger was outstanding. My wife had the bleu cheese burger which also didn't disappoint. Our friends got the Luxe and BBQ bacon burgers which they loved as well. We both got the spicy tenderloin appetizer to start which was very good. We also each had the sweet potato fries as a side (one serving easily feeds two people) which were also very good. While the dipping sauce with the sweet potato fries was good, I actually preferred dipping my fries in the horseradish sauce that came with the tenderloin appetizer. There is a very nice and interesting selection of beers on tap and by bottle at reasonable prices. I had the Arbor Brewing Saison which was great as usual. I've never been to a restaurant with Saison on tap. I'd likely be a regular just for that. My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow and disjointed. The food was delivered very timely, but follow up by wait staff wasn't as timely. Given that this is a brand new restaurant that was still slammed at 7:30 on a Tuesday night it was to be anticipated. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out appropriate staffing levels and get everyone working together better so that there aren't long times waiting for refills, condiments, the check, etc. Overall, great place that will likely be our go-to restaurant in GP. The food is great, drinks are nicely selected, and the price point is very reasonable. A certain restaurant (or two) on the other end of Kercheval need to see what's going on at Luxe and adjust or they'll be "eaten for lunch" by this place!

Went to Luxe for the first time several weeks ago. My wife had been before and steered me to the brussel sprout salad, which was very good. We both ordered the filet. Service was adequate, but not exceptional. Our food came out in a timely fashion, and both of our steaks were cooked to order. The steaks were very good, but were served on a bed of potatoes that were so salty as to be inedible. I intended to bring this to our server's attention, but she never once asked how our meal was. I will definitely not be shy if this happens again. Other than the salt-lick vegetables, our experience was good.

Went there with my family. The food was pretty good. Some stuff was a little different, which I like, such as the smoked trout dip. I particularly enjoyed the large capers on the dish. Our server was also pretty good. However there was just a few things that bothered me; there was 2-3 other servers standing around right in front of our table chit chatting not helping refill drinks and such (we had a group of about 8) so it took a while for everyone to get helped but again our server did well. The other thing that bothered me was that when I asked how the ribs were prepared (because I'm picky about them) the kitchen staff didn't know because they are prepared in a commissary kitchen, that really bothered me that they didn't even know. The rest of the food was pretty good, my mother liked her ribs, the Mac n cheese wasn't bad but it did taste like velveeta Mac. Coleslaw wasn't bad, lamb pretty good, burger was good, nachos were good. Overall I would say the food and service were above average for the area (not specifically the Hill area but Grosse Pointe and SCS)

I got to attend a soft opening for the new Grosse Pointe location of Luxe. It's in the old Lucy's location on the Hill. They updated the interior (thank goodness), the booths and tables are very inviting, we sat in a booth that was very comfortable for 5. The real reason to come here though is the food. Grosse Pointe has been lacking a decent restaurant with reasonable prices, but I think it's finally here. The food was really really good, we tried the Ahi Tuna, the mussels & clams, the tenderloin tips, the trout dip, the siracha shrimp, a greek salad and the brussel sprout salad - one with chicken & the other with salmon. Everyone in our group raved about the food. The wines we tried were also good - a cabernet, an unoaked chardonnay and a saugivnon blanc, all were a hit. Despite it being the first night of service, the wait staff did a great job and the management checked in several times to make sure we were happy. I'm so excited to have a new place to eat in Grosse Pointe that actually has decent food.

The Luxe is a wonderful and needed addition to the restaurant scene in the Grosse Pointes with its fantastic food and its upscale, contemporary, yet cozy & casual interior! Even though The Luxe has only been open for a week and was very busy, the service was prompt and efficient and the waitress was engaging & helpful. The menu is creative and appealing and has a variety of options from wonderful salads to delicious comfort foods, like Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. I ordered the fresh mahi sandwich which is Cajun spiced with oozing muenster cheese, chopped lettuce, tomato and creole mayo ( I skipped the onions!). It was delicious ! I've ordered this several times at the Luxe in Birmingham and it is consistently awesome, with tender and juicy mahi and bursting with flavor. The sweet potato fries are amazing! The Brussels sprout salad ( yes, Brussels sprouts) is surprisingly delicious in combination with the arugula, blue cheese, onions, & dried cherries. We also ordered the crispy arugula potatoes. The roasted potatoes were perfectly seasoned with garlic and Romano cheese ( or pecorino) & were nicely presented over a bed of arugula. Quite tasty! My friend had a Pomegranate martini which was good but was a bit on the short side. The prices are very reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food and for the Grosse Pointes (which tends to be pricey). The Luxe has the energy and interior design of a small New York restaurant. Overall, the Luxe is on the top of my list of restaurants when I'm looking for consistently good and flavorful food with reasonable prices in an upscale yet casual & comfortable setting. Thanks for bringing this restaurant to the GP's!

Adding a star because I went back for lunch today and had a much better experience. Our server Caitlin/Kaitlyn (it's my name too so sorry I'm not sure how she spelled it!) was great and really helped up pick some good choices from the menu. The steak tips appetizer was fantastic, you could cut the steak with a butter knife. My friends got the granny smith salad. I don't really like apples usually but this was fantastic! We also got mixed fries (I preferred the sweet potato to the regular) and I got a veggie burger. Learned from my mistake this time and opted to get it without the bun-- it was a good choice.
